  PULAU REDANG

Yet another premiere dive destination in the vicinity of Trengganu’s coast is the Redang Archipelago with Pulau Redang being the largest of the nine islands. Sun-soaked, powdery beaches, gin-clear waters and native Malaysian style accommodations comfortably cooled off with air-conditioning make it a favorite with many.

Gazetted as a Marine Park in 1985 and protected by the Malaysian Department of Fisheries, the waters around Pulau Redang is carpeted with diverse hard and soft corals, teeming with marine organisms of all sorts.

“Big Mount” in the northern tip of Pulau Lima is always the pick of the list where divers may encounter anything from schooling batfish, barracudas to a sailfish and even chance upon the elusive whale shark. Other popular dive sites are situated close to Pasir Panjang – “Mini Mount”, “Batu Chipor”, Pulau Ekor Tebu.
