Is oxygen and helium in a scuba tank considered a pure substance, heterogeneous or homogeneous mixture?
And why.
Pure substances are either compounds or elements.
A heterogeneous mixture is one with an non-uniform composition.
A homogeneous mixture is one with a uniform composition. By that I mean a sample taken from one part of the mixture would be identical to a similar size sample taken from another part of the mixture.
All solutions are homogeneous and all gas mixtures are solutions.
